CLASSES... zzzz
Sep. 13th, 2006 | 08:02 pm
So, this school year started off bumpy and this semester is definately going to keep on track... is my guess. Printmaking will again be filling my life, which wouldn't be so bad were the studio not cold, uncomfortable and dirty. I mean, it is a little unnerving to be sitting on things that may or may not be covered in acids, inks or paint thinners. I mean seriously, how do these people in my class LIVE THERE!?!? Some of them, by choice mind you, would stay there all night! Yes, that means SLEEPING there! ICK! That couch in there is supposed to be white, and I will tell you what, that fucker is basically the color of shit! I can't even fathom setting my face on one of those rodent-ridden-sexed-on cushons, even for a cat nap!!
And then... photo... the other demanding relationship in my life... GOD IS IT BORING!! My teacher is horribly nice, but could he talk any slower with his whisper voice?! I go in there with all of the energy in the world, and within the first fifteen minutes- POOF! I'm falling off my stool! Seriously, I kept yawning and EVERYONE was staring at me after it got to the point of being ridiculous! I'm serious, even when I get like an hour of sleep I don't yawn every thirty seconds! Perhaps once we start doing the actual work I will be able to pick my head up off the floor (which is still cleaner then that damn couch).
And then on to English... which is my absolute LEAST favorite class... he also talks ridiculously slow and about NOTHING!! We read these short stories and asks us to interpret them... then he says we are wrong... and asks us pointed questions until we answer the right way. Lets just say, I take A LOT of bathroom breaks in that hour and a half. People in my group are gonna start thinking I have other issues other then the fact that my head keeps hollowly smacking against the wall when I nod off.
How can I have so many boring classes?! Yah, I dunno, but the rest I lack in at night is bound to be caught up on in class!

So... I have been living in my apartment for over a week now, and I think I have had some pretty poor luck. I lost my voice last Thursday... due to lack of sleep and already having a cold. Then today, my roomie, Jenny, set off the smoke detector by cooking a Boca Burger, and while she was fanning it, I was about to bite in to my freshly built salad, complete with chunky bleu cheese dressing, when from the corner of my eye I saw what I thought to be a dense chunk of hair rocketing from one end of the kitchen to the other. When I cleared my eyes from the water that is a sorry side-effect of my cold, I realized it was a MOUSE! Yes my friends, a fucking mouse! In what I thought was the perfect apartment resides, god only knows how many, mice! Anywho, so there I was, holding my beautiful, uneaten salad when I recognized the true nature of this hair, when I attempted some horrid excuse for a scream. If you will imagine with me, a sound not of this world, but a horse and muffled, high pitch whistle. It was disgusting! I don't know which was worse, the attempted scream or the mouse. Either way, the horrid sound got Jenny's attention away from the fanning. Once I told her what I saw, we ripped the battery out of the alarm and started freaking out and doing some pathetic dance involving a lot of shifting of our feet, as if this would keep the mouse from touching us. After we decided it was safely residing in the walls of what we believed was OUR residence, we sat down (with our feet off of the floor, of course) and ate the food we had made. Now everytime either of us have to go near the sink, our feet sit safely back a yard or two while our torsos lean in to balance our bodies enough to use our arms. It's actually a sight to behold... pathetic, i know.
Other then that, we get tv. on Thursday... though that isn't as interesting as the play-by-play of our newest neighbor. We are thinking to do a live trap and then give the furball to the neighbor's boa... I dunno. Anyway, so it's a lot harder living on my own then I thought!

LAX
Sep. 3rd, 2006 | 12:23 pm
I spent my whole first day in LAX unpacking... my room is starting to come together and our apt. is looking really cute. Me and my roomies were bonding until like 4 a.m. last night, so that was fun. Then some kid from accross the street was knocking on the door when we were all going to bed... so we ignored it. I thought it was like the cops... WHO knocks THAT time of the day?!?!
Anyway, so I don't have a computer here yet, mines in the shop getting it's boo boos fixed. Keep your fingers crossed it comes out okay.

......weather

location: mi casa
mood:
contemplative
music: Mikey Talented
So, now that it's down to the wire and I am moving in just two days, I'm starting to get home sick already. I realize I haven't left yet, but I keep realizing everything that I will miss when I am back in LAX. It's actually pretty depressing. I love my appartment and the weather there... I have quite a few friends/aquaintances, but I don't seem to meet people that I click SUPER well with. Overall everyone is WAY too athletic, but they all smoke (I don't get that).
I guess what I am thinking is... I'm divided. I love one town and all of the people... but I'm torn because the weather is nicer...

So, I am moving soon and I am kinda worrying about living on my own. It will be interesting to see how it goes. Yikes! But, I love my room! And my apartment is pretty adorable, if I do say so myself! So... I guess I shall see what the year shall bring.
